Getting to know the kids was so special, and something I will never forget. Being able to return for the second time was slightly scary but an incredible privilege, seeing them all again and continuing those relationships, and seeing how they had grown since my first time there.
During my time at Lily of the Valley I was greatly challenged, equipped and shaped. I would never ever want to miss this year in my life!
Being at Lily has provided me with the highest highs and the lowest of lows, but by the strength provided by God and the other volunteers, I wouldn't trade a bad day at Lily for a day anywhere else. Working with these children every day doesn't feel like work at all, it feels like I am the luckiest person to be able to hang out with such strong, incredible children each and every day.
I loved getting to know wonderful people who are willing to sacrifice much for doing Gods work loving these children and to lay aside everything else. The unity while working together and getting through rough times encouraged me.
Volunteering at Lily has made a huge impact on my life. Seeing how such a big orphanage works and enables 120 kids to have a good start-up in an independent life was a huge inspiration.
