Serving at Lily

Our volunteers take on many different roles at Lily, serving alongside staff and other volunteers from all over the world. Volunteers enrich the lives of the children who reside at Lily of the Valley. As far as possible we would like our volunteers to commit to serving for a period of at least six months, preferably longer. Current Opportunities

Media Coordinator

Has God gifted you with media skills? We need volunteers with skills in social media, photography, video and graphic design to assist in connecting Lily of the Valley with the rest of the world. Minimum time commitment: six months

Medical Workers

You can apply your knowledge and skill as a psychologist, nurse, occupational therapist, play therapist, physiotherapist etc. to bring wholeness and healing into the lives of children at Lily. Minimum time commitment: one year

Child Sponsorship Assistant

Are you a people person with strong administrative skills? Child sponsorship is an important part of the work at Lily of the Valley and sponsorship assistants play a significant role in helping to strengthen relationships between the children and their sponsors. Minimum time commitment: one year

Youth Worker Assistant

Do you enjoy planning activities, running holiday clubs and spending time building relationships and mentoring children and youth? Youth worker assistants play a vital role by providing experiences for the enrichment, education, development and spiritual training of all the children and youth at Lily. Minimum time commitment: six months

Education Assistants

Would you like to make a positive difference in the lives of children through education? Education assistants are needed in many areas, from early childhood development, to literacy programmes, to tutoring and homework help. Minimum time commitment: six months

Mentors

Did you know that God can use you to benefit the children at Lily no matter what skills you have? Our children need quality mentors in their lives to help them grow and mature. Contact us to see how you can make a difference in the life of a child at Lily as a mentor.

  • Volunteering at Lily has made a huge impact on my life. Seeing how such a big orphanage works and enables 120 kids to have a good start-up in an independent life was a huge inspiration.

  • Getting to know the kids was so special, and something I will never forget. Being able to return for the second time was slightly scary but an incredible privilege, seeing them all again and continuing those relationships, and seeing how they had grown since my first time there.

  • Being at Lily has provided me with the highest highs and the lowest of lows, but by the strength provided by God and the other volunteers, I wouldn't trade a bad day at Lily for a day anywhere else.
